ChangelogWhat changed in Epoch, Mapdesk and Caster

26.10.4

Mapdesk has its own home at mapdesk.app

Mapdesk is now its own web app at mapdesk.app, with its own sign-in and its own plans. Your Mapdesk projects, the map and georeferencing are here now. 3D projects stay in Epoch. Settings, billing and organizations are new, and work the same way in every Stiple app.

  • Mapdesk · The web app is at mapdesk.app. Sign in with the same email you use for Epoch.
  • Mapdesk · Projects that had Mapdesk turned on have moved here from Epoch. New projects you make here are Mapdesk projects.
  • Mapdesk · Open a project's map with Open map in the project header. In the file list, use Add to map, Open on map and Remove from map.
  • Mapdesk · Mapdesk Free gives you 1 GB of storage, 10 people per project and 2 georeferenced plans a month. Everyone counts towards the 10, viewers and pending invites included.
  • Mapdesk · Mapdesk Pro is US$35 a month or US$350 a year per person, or CA$50 a month or CA$500 a year. It gives you 10 GB of storage, any number of people per project and 25 georeferenced plans a month.
  • Mapdesk · Georeferencing a plan you already georeferenced does not use up another one.
  • Mapdesk · A project over its storage or people limit still opens, exports and lets you delete. New uploads, invites and georeferencing wait until it is back under the limit.
  • Mapdesk · Upgrade, change your card, switch between monthly and yearly, cancel or resume, and pay a failed bill in Settings, without leaving Mapdesk.
  • Mapdesk · Plans & billing shows your plan and usage in Mapdesk, Epoch and Caster in one place. Invoices lists every bill, with a PDF of each.
  • Mapdesk · Start an organization and pay for your crew's Mapdesk Pro seats on one bill. Invite people by email as Admin or Member, with a seat or without one.
  • Mapdesk · Add seats any time and pay only for the time left. Remove seats and the time left comes back as credit on the next bill.
  • Mapdesk · If you already pay for Mapdesk Pro, it moves into your new organization as your seat, at the same price and renewal date.
  • Mapdesk · Join an organization from its invite email. If you pay for your own Mapdesk Pro, it ends when you join and the time left is refunded to your card.
  • Mapdesk · Owners and admins can cancel the plan and keep the organization, or resume it before it ends. Members can leave an organization.
  • Mapdesk · If Stiple set your organization up with a licence, the Organization page shows its seats for each app.
  • Mapdesk · New settings, with Profile, Security, Plans & billing, Invoices and Organization in one list. Add a photo, change your email with a code, set up an authenticator app, and sign out other devices.
  • Mapdesk · The account menu has a Theme switch, System, Light or Dark, and Send feedback. Pick Bug, Idea or Other, write what happened and attach a screenshot if you like.
  • Mapdesk · Imported DXF files keep their own colours and line weights, and KML files keep their styles. DXF and KML exports keep them too.
  • Mapdesk · New layers are white. Every line and point has a thin black edge so it stands out on satellite imagery, and points are drawn smaller.
  • Mapdesk · Set the exposure and saturation of a plan or image layer in its layer panel.
  • Mapdesk · Invite links and invite emails for Mapdesk projects open mapdesk.app.
  • Mapdesk Mobile · Relays from the Caster console are listed with your bases, in the Base sheet and in Manage all devices. A relay's page shows what a rover enters to use it and whether its source is connected.
  • Mapdesk Mobile · Add a relay from the phone. Name it and enter the other caster's details. The source is checked before anything is saved, and if it does not work you are told why.
26.10.3

Bring another caster's corrections into yours

Add a relay in the Caster console: a mount point of your own that carries the corrections of another caster you have a login for. In Mapdesk, pick a base from your list and set a receiver up for Caster in one tap.

26.10.2

Drop a plan on the map, and new addresses

Drag a PDF or an image onto the map to start georeferencing it. Epoch is now at epoch.site, and the Caster console is at corrections.app. The old addresses keep working.

26.10.1

Uploads keep going on a bad connection

An upload no longer fails because of one dropped piece or a slow connection. Each piece is sent again by itself, the upload waits while you are offline, and on a weak connection it sends fewer pieces at once so they get through.

26.10

Draw and edit on the map

You can now draw points, polylines and polygons on the map, edit them by dragging, and undo or redo each step. Layers and their features sit in one tree, and exports show a live preview of the file.

26.09.4

Import LandXML surfaces onto the map

You can now add a LandXML file to the map by dragging it in or adding it from Files. Surfaces, boundaries, breaklines, points and alignments are drawn, with an elevation colour ramp and a height legend.

26.09.3

Projects with many point clouds open in 3D

Projects with more than 200 point clouds now open in the 3D viewer; before, they failed to load. IFC models also load again instead of staying on "Loading model".

26.09.2

Expired files in trash are now deleted

Files left in trash past their expiry are now permanently deleted. The clean-up had been failing without notice, so nothing was ever removed.

26.09.1

Map and 3D viewer now open inside Epoch

The map and the 3D viewer are now part of Epoch instead of separate sites, so a project opens in either without leaving the app. Moving between pages is faster after the first load.

26.09

Configure your rover from the Mapdesk app

You can now set up a receiver from the phone. Choose Rover or Base and change its settings from a list for each mode.
